Democracy is about rights of people, not looting resources: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT Chairman Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that today even the culprits who breached the national security are not being punished, and the security risk leaders are maligning the national institutions. He said that the mafia has usurped the national resources and powers and this mafia would not feel hesitation to kill the innocent people to secure its interests. He remarked that democracy was not about completing 5 year- tenure and looting, stating that democracy was the name of providing justice, ensuring law and order, and protecting the rights of the public. “The killer and the corrupt elite says that none has right to halt their looting and challenge their dynastic way of governing the country”, He lamented.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was talking to PAT overseas leadership and the members of Pakistani community in Toronto yesterday. PAT Chairman said that when our justice system dispenses justice without consideration of status and wealth, that day will be the first day of our revolution and we unequivocally announce that the victims of Model Town incident has not yet got justice despite the passage of three years. The biggest hurdle in the way of getting justice is the power and influence wielded by the killers. The thousands of expatriate and local families of MQ & PAT are boiling with anger over this flagrant example of injustice. He further added that the evidences of Panama scandal & Dawn leaks were confidential and secret but the evidences of the massacre of Model Town which was inflicted upon the PAT workers are open and accessible for everyone. He questioned as to why the victims of Model Town incident could not get justice?

The outcome of three-year proceedings is that Government has reinstated even last constable after ensuring his release. It thus gave the lesson to other civil servants that those of them who are loyal to Sharif family can be got released even from the charges of murdering of 17 people; that nothing will happen to them whether they kill the innocent people or breach the national security. He asked the institutions which are the custodian of constitution and justice as to why the judicial commission report was not being made public. Why is the honourable bench of Lahore High Court reluctant to issue the judgment? He said that the Sharif family does not listen to any judicial commission and investigation. He said that the Panama case, the Dawn Leaks, the Qazi Esa report, and Justice Baqir Najfi report fully substantiate this statement. He said that it was the public uprising for their rights that would ouster the mafia sitting in the government, adding that condemnations would never be able to accomplish that goal. The public must play their role to save the country. He concluded that the second round of the Qisas movement has yet to be launched.
