Change knocking at door, end of corrupt elite imminent: Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT Chairman Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the very underlying philosophy of rule of law demands that the treatment that is meted out to common dacoits and murderers should also be meted out to the accused of the Panama scandal and Model Town incident. He noted that if these national culprits were allowed to go unharmed and scot-free, this country would never be able to get on track. The participation of thousands of workers in July 15 protest indicates that even today the PAT workers are determined unwaveringly to demand Qisas for the martyrs of Model Town tragedy and elimination of corrupt system. He added that the sea of workers in the rally has made him proud while noting that the second round of Qisas movement was yet to be started. He vowed that if we did not get justice, we would throng the streets and would continue to protest unless we got justice.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said, while talking with the central leadership of PAT yesterday that the wind of change had started to blow, the corrupt elite was counting its last days in office. He urged the people to remain vigilant because these culprits would go to any extent to save themselves. He warned that if they escaped the accountability this time, the country would never be able to restore its bygone glory, while stating that all global forces which played their role in Nawaz Sharif’s ascendency were trying their best to save him now. He noted that this was historic moment for accountability and urged the nation not to waste this opportunity.

Dr Qadri appreciated the members of JIT for their courage, and valour with which they prepared such an extraordinary report. He demanded the SC to provide security to the members of JIT and their families. He remarked that the martyrs of Model Town Incident were also looking towards the Supreme Court for justice. He added that Justice Najfi report must be made public to expose the real culprits of Model Town tragedy. He noted that Panama scandal had exposed their financial crimes and Model Town incident had proven them killers and murderers, while adding that despite these convictions, if these rulers were given any soft treatment, we could only pray for the future of Pakistan.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said that he was the strongest proponent of the fact that all political parties should get together on the agenda of launching Go Nawaz Go campaign. He observed that the nation was looking towards lawyers to get rid of corrupt elite, further stating that the lawyers’ community should play their role in this regard.

The PAT Chairman stated that now it was time that young doctors, labourers, APCA, traders, teachers, professors, and farmers should also join the Go Nawaz Go campaign. “ I do have unwavering belief that if this corrupt system, which harbours barbarities and looting of national resources, was not dealt a death blow, the thieves and dacoits would continue to exploit the country in different ways and forms”, he concluded.
