Disqualification of PM starting point of anti-corruption drive: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has described the Supreme Court’s verdict of disqualifying Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as historic. Terming it as a victory of the people, he congratulated the nation and judiciary on this watershed moment in the country’s democratic history. He said that he is very pleased on the unanimous judgment of the honorable justices of the bench. He said that the JIT members and the judges of the Supreme Court said in one voice that the Prime Minister is not honest and trustworthy.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Allah Almighty has rid the nation of a corrupt premier. He said that the judges and the JIT members have done a great favor on the nation. He further stated that lawyers, political workers, anchors and journalists who exposed corruption of the elite also deserve to be congratulated. He said that the verdict is a great success of Pakistan.

The PAT Chairman said that the families of the martyrs of Model Town will get justice now and the perpetrators of the cool-blooded tragedy will be caught as well.

Meanwhile, talking to the members of the central Core Committee of PAT, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the way the ruling mafia tampered with the record of Panama, tried to change facts and submitted forged documents to hoodwink the SC, they also tried to change the contents of the facts of the Model Town incident. He said that for last three years, they have been sitting over Justice Najfi Commission report. He said that our first demand is that the Model Town commission report should be made public without any delay. He said that disqualification of Nawaz Sharif is the starting point of an anti-corruption drive.

Dr Qadri demanded that all those who have looted this country and played the role of facilitator and accomplice in this regard should be held to account. He said that the nation should not restrict itself to celebrating the ouster of Nawaz Sharif, adding that it should make a mind to change the oppressive system. He said that now ‘Go System Go’ movement will be launched and the stolen wealth of the country will be brought back. He said that the blood of innocent people was shed like water in Model Town incident and today they have lost both power as well as honour.
