Approval of Clause 203 exposes moral & intellectual bankruptcy: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has expressed his deep concern on the passage of Clause 203 of Election Reforms Bill. He said that one can expect such immoral and illegal enactment from the kind of people who continue to occupy Parliament. He said that the approval of the Clause is a parliamentary attack on notions of honesty and morality. He said that with the adoption of the Clause, the moral and mental bankruptcy of those elements who are part of the current electoral system stands exposed. He asked as to how a proven liar, dishonest and disqualified person can qualify to head a political party.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that those of the members of Parliament who voted for approval of the controversial Clause have a lot to answer for in the courts of Allah and the people. He said that Articles 63 and 62 demand honesty, truthfulness and trust worthiness from the members of parliament. He said that the law is being amended for a person who the SC declared as liar. He said that when the said Clause is challenged in the SC, it is likely to be struck down, for it is the apex court that is the custodian of the Constitution. He said that he had stated long ago that the corrupt rulers will amend the Constitution and delete such words as ‘honest’, ‘ameen’ and ‘truthful’ from it. He said that this nefarious and evil game started to be played and the people have their eyes set on the Supreme Court. ‘The SC should stop the way of this parliamentary terrorism,’ he concluded.
