PAT asks JIT members to leave investigation in a show of moral courage

Rejecting yet again the investigation of the Joint Investigation Team constituted to probe Model Town incident that started working today, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has made it clear that a JIT which was established without concurrence of the affected party does not have any legal position or moral authority.

Dr Raheeq Abbasi, central President of PAT, stated this in a statement issued from the central secretariat of the party. He asked Abdur Razzaq Cheema, head of JIT and other members the team to show grace and separate themselves voluntarily from the investigation after the heirs of the martyrs have expressed their lack of confidence in the integrity of the JIT. He said that the government has established this partisan and one-sided JIT to find scapegoats and give a clean chit to the principal accused. He said that PAT chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri would make a startling revelation about the JIT on his return from abroad.
