Hatred in name of sects must be uprooted: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founding leader and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) has said that the companions of the Holy Prophet (SAW) were bound in an unbreakable bond of mutual love and brotherhood. He said that these great personages had the honour of being under direct tutelage and training of the Holy Prophet (SAW). He said that the great Prophet (SAW) himself shaped their character and built their personalities, adding that it is for this reason that wisdom was their defining attribute. He said that the spirit of sacrifice enveloped their personalities with the result that the companions could never come out of influence of brotherhood formed by the Holy Prophet (SAW).

Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while addressing thousands of the residents of Itikaf City yesterday. It is pertinent to mention that more than 16,000 residents of Itikaf City including women listened to the keynote speech of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri separately. Stringent security measures have been put in place in and around the Itikaf City where more than 1000 youths of Mustafvi Students Movement and Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League are doing the security duties. Security cameras have been installed to monitor the situation, whereas walk-through gates have also been set up for entry and exit of the people.

Referring to Hazrat Ali (AS), Dr Qadri said that he is such a great personality about whom the Holy Prophet (SAW): ‘O Ali; I am from you and you are from me.’ He said that Hazrat Ali (RA) is the majestic king of the world of knowledge, insight and wisdom and people get wisdom and insight thanks to the dust of his feet. He said that the Holy Prophet (SAW) is the city of wisdom and knowledge, whereas Hazrat Ali (AS) is its gate or entrance. He said loving Hazrat Ali (AS) is to love the person of the Holy Prophet (SAW). He said that the status enjoyed by the Prophet’s household (Ahl-e-Bait) is over and above the understanding of human mind. He said that having extreme love for those for whom the verse of purification was revealed is the blessings and good luck for the faithful.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the dust of doubts should settle down now and the sun of a new love should dawn. He said that it is not possible to eliminate various schools of thoughts but added in the same breath that hatred spread in the name of sects should be eradicated from the society. Talking about blessings of the master of universe, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that many hardships come during the journey of winning pleasure of Allah Almighty. He said that there are finally good days for those in this world and the hereafter who remain steadfast and exercise patience when confronted with these difficulties. He said that those who remain patient get the reward in the form of love of the Prophet’s household. He said that loving Hazrat Ali (AS) and his family and weeping in remembrance of Imam Hussain’s (AS) pain and grief is a sign of the faith. He said that every aspect of Hazrat Ali’s (As) love of the Holy Prophet (SAW) was a paragon of excellence.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that spending a night on the Holy Prophet’s (Saw) bed on the occasion of migration with the conviction that none can dare harm him speaks volumes about Hazrat Ali’s enormous and extreme love for the person of the Holy Prophet (SAW). He said that we have lost our peace and become restless in our race for material acquisitions but mental peace and satisfaction lies in the love and company of Allah’s blessed people. He said that establishing a relationship of love with Hazrat Ali (AS) is to love the Holy Prophet (SAW). He said that those who attain the love of these personages, successes in this world and the world hereafter become their destiny.

Earlier in his introductory address, Dr Qadri welcomed the residents of the Itikaf city who came from different parts of the country to spend ten days in dedicated remembrance of their Lord. He gave them special instructions on the occasion.
