The 35th International Mawlid-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference was held at the Greater Iqbal Park under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in Lahore during the intervening night of the 11th and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered his keynote speech on the occasion. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of MQI Supreme Council and Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of MQI, participated in the Conference along with hundreds of thousands of people who came from different cities and towns of the country. A large number of women were also part of the spiritual congregation for whom separate seating arrangements were in place.
Provincial Minister Auqaf and Religious Affairs Sahibzada Sayyid Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah Gillani, PPP leader Sardar Latif Khan Khosa, PML-Q leader Chaudhry Salik Hussain, provincial ministers Mian Aslam Iqbal, Muraad Ras, PPP leader Ch. Manzoor Ahmad, Hassan Mujtaba, Barrister Amir Hasan Khan, distinguished poet Zahid Fakhari, renowned Naat Khawan Abdur Rauf Roofi, renowned compare Sahibzada Tasleem Ahmed Sabri including distinguished people belonging to different walks of life and the faith leaders attended the spiritual gathering. A large number of religious scholars and Mashaykh were also in attendance.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, who was the chief organizer of the International Mawlid-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference, welcomed the delegates and participants to the Conference. Prof Abdur Rauf Roofi, Sahibzada Tasleem Ahmad Sabri, Al-Haaj Muhammad Afzal Noshahi, Shahzad Hanif Madni, Bilali Brothers, Khurram Shahzad brothers and others had the honour of reciting the Naat in their characteristic melodious voices.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri congratulated Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Jawad Hamid and office holders of all forums of the MQI on making excellent arrangements for the Conference.
The address of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri started at 2.30 am. Before formally starting his speech, he gave a brief introduction of newly published Quranic Encyclopedia consisting of 8 volumes. He told the gathering that 550 of his works have been published so far but he is very pleased on the publication of Encyclopedia of the Holy Quran. He said that it is the second time that he is most happy, the first occasion being the publication of Irfan-ul-Quran a few years ago. He said that he cannot describe his happiness in words. He said that more than 5000 topics can be found in the Encyclopedia that will benefit the people of all ages, categories and professions.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered his speech on the subject of the human and spiritual (Noori) aspects of the Holy Prophet’s (ﷺ) personality. He said that the blessed personality of the Prophet (pbuh) has both human and ‘Noori’ aspects for us, the human beings. He said that it was due to his sacred life having a human character that we got the awareness of a man being a human. He said that the whole life of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) is a beacon of light for the entire humanity. He said that if the beloved Prophet (pbuh) had not lived life like this, we, the human beings, would not have got his Sira and Sunna.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that if we establish the relationship of love with the Holy Prophet (pbuh), then we can achieve successes not only in this world but also in the hereafter. He said that if we do not do that, we will continue to face more humiliation and degradation down the line.
Earlier, the first session of the Mawlid-un-Nabi ﷺ Conference got underway at 8 p.m. Qari Abdullah Qadri and Qari Abdus Samad had the honour of reciting the verses from the Holy Quran to open the proceedings of the Conference.
The hundreds of media activists took part in covering the mega event live across all social media platforms. A separate media cell was set up for this purpose. Huge sized LED screens were put up around the venue so that the people could see the proceedings despite being far away from the main stage.
The keynote address of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri came to an end at 4.15 a.m. followed by massive display of fireworks that lit the skies and made the atmosphere of Greater Iqbal Park spiritually ecstatic. Sahibzada Sayyid Saeed-ul-Hassan made the concluding Dua for peace, progress and stability of the country.
