Minhaj Ulama Council welcomes mandatory teaching of Holy Quran in schools

Allama Imdadullah Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council has welcomed the adoption of the consensually adopted Bill aimed at making teaching of the Holy Quran mandatory in schools and educational institutions. He said that the decision to educate children about the Holy Quran will have positive effects on the society besides motivating young students to developing understanding of the Holy Quran.

Allama Imdadullah Qadri further said that in order to optimally benefit from this decision, it is important that educated Qaris having certain level of education are appointed on merit. He said they should be given good salary package with the status of subject specialist. He said that it is important to give respect to teachers who teach our students how to read the Holy Book.
