Mazhar Mahmood Alvi, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League, has said that the hearts devoid of the love of the Prophet’s family (pbuh) are dead. He asked the youth to connect themselves with the Hussaini thought, take a leaf from the life of the Prophet’s (pbuh) grandsons and live a life of piety and goodness. He said that by rendering supreme sacrifices in the plains of Karbala, the members of the holy Prophet’s (pbuh) family upheld the banner of truth and fundamental human rights and condemned oppression and falsehood till the Day of Judgment. He said that the youth should study the life of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) and the struggle he waged as it offers a beacon of light amid darkness.
Mazhar Mahmood Alvi made these remarks while addressing a conference on the life of the great Imam Hussain (A.S) in Aziz Bhatti Town, Mughalpura the other day. Mansoor Qasim Awan, Shoaib Mughal, Haji Farrukh, Hafiz Waqar, Rizwan Ahmad and others were present on the occasion. He said that standing by the weak and the oppressed is Hussainyat and spreading chaos and sectarianism is Yazidayat. He said that the message of Karbala is to stand up to oppression and dictatorship and safeguard the fundamental human rights of all without any discrimination. He said that the Imam (A.S) and his companions were faced with untold and unimaginable hardships and a reign of terror was unleashed on them, still they did not yield to Yazid and compromise on their principles and values. He said that the country is passing through critical times and in order to secure it from internal and external conspiracies, there is a need to act upon the thought of Imam Hussain (A.S).
