National Youth Convention under Minhaj Youth League

In a major ceremony held at the Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) secretariat, Chairman Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri announced the appointment of Rana Waheed Shahzad, Dr Imran Yunus and Haroon Sani as the central president, secretary general and senior vice-president of Minhaj Youth League respectively.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri paid rich tributes to Mazhar Mahmood Alvi and Mansoor Qasim Awan for their wonderful service as the central president and secretary general of MYL for eight long years. He announced to promote Mazhar Alvi as Naib Nazim-e-Ala for Sindh zone in recognition of his meritorious services.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has been working towards reforming the conduct and building the character of the youth for the past four decades, for it is because of the hard work of the youth with integrity and high sense of morality that the destiny of the nation changes.

Chairman MQI said that the youth are the greatest asset of Pakistan. He said that our country is lucky to have 60% of its population consisting of the youth. He said that it is by benefiting from their capabilities and unlocking their potential that Pakistan can be put on the path of progress and prosperity.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the educational institutions have been set up under the banner of MQI, which are benefiting hundreds of thousands of the students and the youth across the country in terms of top quality education and training. He said that Allah Almighty likes those who spend their nights remembering His Name, adding that such pious youths are the asset of Muslim community.

Dr Hassan Qadri said that the youths have a central role in the history of rise and fall of nations. He said that lofty thinking, superior conduct, bravery, piety and respect for humanity are the key attributes of an ideal youth. He said that these are the youthful people who are the subject of Allama Iqbal’s poetry. He said that the youth equipped with modern education and character will play a decisive role in the establishment of Mustafavi society. He said that MQI will continue to perform the duty of character-building of the youth in line with the vision of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said that it also goes to the credit of MQI that it put the youth on the path of knowledge acquisition and peace and created a sense of moral responsibility in their hearts.

Senior MQI leaders Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur have congratulated Rana Waheed Shahzad, Dr Imran Yunus and Haroon Sani on their appointment as the president, secretary general and the vice-president of MYL. They also lauded the contributions of Mazhar Mahmood Alvi.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Rana Nafees Hussain Qadri, Jawad Hamid, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Azhar Mahmood Awan, Engineer Sanaullah Khan, Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal and other leaders participated in the event.
