A special gathering was arranged in the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on December 3, 2007 in connection with the death anniversary of Sayedina Tahir Ala ud Din al-Qadri al-Gillani, the spiritual patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. This meeting was declared as condolence reference to the special disciple of Qudwat ul Awliya, Haji Sher Jan Qadri who served the former for 50 years. Haji Sher Jan Qadri breathed his last in Karachi two days ago in Darbar-e-Ghosia.
The grandsons of Qudwat ul Awliya, Sahibzada Sayed Tahir Hassam ud Din and Sahibzada Sayed Abdur Rahman Saif-ud-Din al-Qadari came to the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International for participation in the meeting. They were given red carpet welcome on their arrival by Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Nazim DFA G. M. Malik, Nazim Communication Haji Manzoor Hussain Qadri, Amir-e-Tehreek Punjab Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Amir-e-Tehreek Lahore Prof Zulifqar Ali, the office bearers of Bazm-e-Qadria, students and teachers of COSIS.
At around 1215, Sahibzada Sayed Tahir Hassam ud Din and Sahibzada Sayed Abdur Rahman Saif-ud-Din Al-Qadri were welcomed in the shower of flowers and spiritually electric atmosphere marked by recitation of Durood-o-Salam. The students of COSIS sang Arabic mystic songs at this occasion.
The program formally started with recitation from the Holy Quran by Qari Muhammad Usman followed by recital of Naat and Manqabat. The chief organizer of Bazm-e-Qadria Pakistan Shahzad Rasool Qadri offered welcoming remarks.
Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbai welcomed Sahibzada Sayed Tahir Hassam ud Din and Sahibzada Sayed Abdur Rahman Saif-ud-Din al-Qadari on behalf of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. He said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was one of the favorite disciples of Sayedina Tahir Ala ud Din Qadri. Not only that the Tehreek also enjoys the special spiritual blessings of Qudwat ul Awliya. In addition to this, Ghous-ul-Azam Shaykh Abdul Qadri Jilani has also blessed Minhaj-ul-Quran International spiritually. Amir-e-Tehreek Sahibzada Miskin Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani said in his talk that it was a rare honour for MQI and its workers to have hosted the grandsons of Qudwat ul Awliya, Sahibzada Sayed Tahir Hassam-ud-Din and Sahibzada Sayed Abdur Rahman Saif-ud-Din al-Qadari at the Central Secretariat. He said the life of late Haji Sher Jan was a paragon of faithfulness and sincerity and we could learn a lot from his life. Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Baghdai conducted the proceedings and meeting ended on the special prayers of Sahibzada Sayed Tahir Hassam-ud-Din al-Galani.
