In his special message on ‘Shab-e-Barat’ (the night of repentance & forgiveness), Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the patron-in-chief of MQI, has said that the 15th night of the month of Sha`baan is called ‘Shab-e-Barat’. He said that Allah Almighty forgives the sinners more than the hair of the she-goats of tribe of Bani Qalb on this blessed night. He said that the 15th night of Shabaan is the night of forgiveness and salvation. He said that our prayers are not granted because we do not refrain from disobeying Allah Almighty. He said that prayer is an important form of worship and nothing else except prayer can change the destiny of a man.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that on the 15th night of Sha`baan, Allah’s Mercy especially awaits the prayers of His servants, adding that the moment they pray, His Mercy showers on them. He said that seeking penance and forgiveness for one’s sins are the among the favourite prayers in the court of Allah Almighty, adding that he who is lucky enough to seek Allah’s pardon, the doors of His mercy and blessings open for such a person. He said that if one wants one’s prayers to be accepted during hard times, one should continue to pray to one’s Lord during the prosperous times as well. He said that care of and good treatment towards one’s relatives, lawful means of livelihood, and respect of relations are helpful in acceptance of prayers.
Dr Qadri said that the struggle to enrich one’s heart with love of Allah and His Prophet (SAW) should be the topmost priority of every Muslim. He said that the beginning of treading the path of love is made by repenting of one’s past misdeeds. He said that shedding tears over the past misdeeds, seeking forgiveness from Allah Almighty and ridding oneself of sins forever is what constitutes repentance in the real sense. He said that the visible misdeeds are cured and rectified by visible good deeds, adding that seeking pardon from Allah Almighty in the dark of night and shedding tears in His remembrance are the only way to get rid of misdeeds.
